Burrwood are very happy to boast some brilliant stockists and one of our favorites has kindly written a little bit about our history on their blog, Tales from the White Company…
We’ve fallen head-over-heels for our stunning new Burrwood boards, not least for how they look and feel, but for the special story that goes into making each one.
It all begins with owners Simon and Steph who regularly travel all over the UK to managed wood yards, woodlands and forests in search of unique pieces of oak, beech, sycamore, walnut or ash with interesting character, colour or grain.
Whether it’s Cornwall or North Yorkshire, each piece of wood comes from a sustainable source, including trees that have ‘fallen’ naturally. Steph told us: “We feel there is nothing more rewarding than rescuing an unloved fallen tree and turning it into a much-loved board that becomes part of the family and can be handed down through generations.”
